Each of these apparitions, or "manifestations," communicated through different physical senses — especially touch, hearing, and sight. This pamphlet explains what apparitions are and how the church evaluates them, highlighting those approved by the Church and feast days established in honor of Marian apparitions despite the later emergence of modern guidelines.
